Affiliate Disclosure

In line with the US Federal Trade Commission's Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising (16 CFR Part 255), Keen Review discloses that some links on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and buy something, the retailer may pay us a commission at no additional cost to you.

As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.

That commission is how we fund buying products at retail and testing them for weeks before publishing. It is the entire business model: no sponsored reviews, no paid placements in our rankings, no display advertising.

Assume that any link taking you to a retailer is an affiliate link — that includes “check price” buttons, retailer names in comparison tables, and product links inside a review or buying guide. We participate in the Amazon Associates Program and comparable programs run by other retailers, brands and affiliate networks.

These are never affiliate links:

• links to a manufacturer's spec sheet, manual or safety recall notice;
• links to another publisher's testing, a standards body or a source we cite;
• internal links between our own reviews, guides and category pages.

Every page that carries affiliate links also carries a disclosure in the footer, visible without clicking anything.

• The price is the same.Affiliate commission comes out of the retailer's margin, not your total. Using our link never costs you more, and refusing it never costs you less.
• Your order is with the retailer.We don't sell anything, hold stock, or see your payment details. Delivery, returns and warranty are between you and the seller.
• You can opt out. Search for the product yourself, or block third-party cookies. The review says the same thing either way.

The obvious risk with this model is that the highest-paying product quietly becomes the best product. Here is how we stop that, in the order it happens:

• We buy everything. No samples from brands. Every product is bought at retail, like you would.
• Real-world testing. Weeks of daily use, not a lab afternoon. We note how things hold up.
• Consistent scoring. Every product is judged on the same criteria for its category.
• We update picks. Reviews are revisited as prices change and new models launch.

Scoring is finished and recorded before anyone looks at which retailer pays what. Commission rates are not an input to the score, the ranking order, or the decision to feature a product at all — and a product can top a category while earning us nothing. We link to the retailer we'd actually tell a friend to use, including ones we have no affiliate relationship with when they're the better option. Our editorial policy spells the process out in full.

• Payment from a brand in exchange for a review, a score, or a ranking position.
• Free samples or loaner units in place of buying a product at retail.
• Copy written or approved by a brand and published as our own.
• Any arrangement conditional on the outcome of a review being positive.
• Removal of a negative review or a bad score in exchange for money or continued affiliate access.

We currently publish none. If that ever changes, sponsored or paid-placement content will be labelled as such at the top of the page, kept out of our scored rankings, and never presented as an independent review. A disclosure at the bottom of a page is not enough for that kind of content, and we won't treat it as if it were.
