Which links are affiliate links

Most outbound links from a review or buying guide — including "Check price" buttons and retailer links in our comparison tables — are affiliate links. We participate in affiliate programs including the Amazon Associates Program and similar programs run by other retailers and brands.

What this doesn't change

• The price you pay is the same whether or not you use our link
• Our scores are set before we know which retailer will pay the most
• We don't accept payment from a brand in exchange for a better review
• A product we're paid to feature is labeled as such, separately from this policy

How we actually test

Our commission comes from where you choose to buy something we've already recommended on its own merits — not the other way around. That separation is enforced by how we work:

• We buy everything. No samples from brands. Every product is bought at retail, like you would.
• Real-world testing. Weeks of daily use, not a lab afternoon. We note how things hold up.
• Consistent scoring. Every product is judged on the same criteria for its category.
• We update picks. Reviews are revisited as prices change and new models launch.
